I built two Adirondack chairs out of cedar based on these plans from Woodworker’s Journal. This was a fun project — it involved several different woodworking tools and techniques. I made templates out of MDF so that I can make more chairs easily.
These chairs are finished in rosewood oil, which, in my opinion, make the natural cedar color “pop” a bit more without giving the appearance of an artificial painted finish (a mistake I made when finishing my shed).
