We’d wanted a round kitchen table with a lazy susan in the middle since moving into our own house. I designed this in Sketchup before building it to make sure everything would fit together. The tabletop is made of hardwood plywood, and the pedestal is pine. I used timber framing joinery to construct the pedestal. The pedestal isn’t stained — it’s been lightly charred (my attempt at shou sugi ban) and a coat of polyurethane has been added.
The lazy susan is made of quartersawn white oak. The bearings underneath it are just a lazy susan bearing kit, readily available online.
