Privacy Fence

Our back yard had an aging picket fence on two sides that was actively falling over. So, we removed the old fence, dug new four foot deep post holes, added rails, and cut boards into dog-eared pickets. Each post is held in place by packed 3/4″ crushed stone, which helps keep the post feet drier and also makes the posts easier to remove and replace later (instead of digging up concrete). All told, this project took about 60 hours. Thanks for the assist, Angie, Joe, and Eric!

Several years later, the picket fence on the remaining side started to fail. I, my brother John, and my son Zephyr rebuilt the last section, which completed the privacy fence upgrade.
