I bought a hammock, and built the stand (based on these plans), which we enjoyed for many years until squirrels pulled apart the hammock fabric to get nesting material. My mother salvaged enough material from the damaged hammock to make a kid-sized hammock, and also built a new hammock to replace the adult-sized one. My friend Gideon and I made a simple loom and wove nylon ropes into a clew to hang the new hammocks, and I built a second kid-sized stand as well.
I don’t have many build photos — Gideo and I were having too much fun learning a totally new skill — weaving rope!
