I built this simple, fun busy board for my one-year-old son. I basically walked up and down the aisles of the local hardware store and grabbed anything that I thought would be interesting to a small kid. There are some elements that are meant to be challenging, like the locks, where the codes to open them can be discovered through careful guesswork. There are locks, wingnuts, things that slide, things that make noise, handles, a couple of lights that turn on and off, as well as a rotary phone dial.
