This project was designed to solve the highly specific problem of maintaining a predictable temperature when proofing bread on top of a wood stove — for most people, this would be a solution looking for a problem. This metal box can be raised or lowered and placed on top of a wood stove without getting damaged by the heat. I learned all about heat resistant caulk, glass (borosilicate for the win), and other materials, as well as how to drill holes in borosilicate in this project.
